DJ Cook's Biography

 


DJ Cook is crazy about vinyls, that why he likes to mix jazz and hip hop,
blues and electro, surfmusic and funk, afro and punk.

DJ Cook first collaborate with the band RIPLEY. Together they accompany, in a kinda of movie-concert,
the famous Fritz LANG's movie :
METROPOLIS.  They also work for cinema, publicity and video game,
in particular with a music for the game RAYMAN and a remix of Lalo Schifrin for the last
Splinter Cell.

In 2002, RIPLEY take part in compilation “La musique de Paris dernière 3” of Beatrice ARDISSON with a
Doors' cover “Light my Fire”. The voice of DJ COOK starts to be known!

In 2003, after a 9 months Tour with RIPLEY, DJ COOK is programmed at The TRANSMUSICALES de Rennes
with ARNO, Stéphan EICHER, Denez PRIGENT,
BAUCKLANG and… The Béruriers Noirs!

The year after, he mixes at the Parc Expo with Mike Jones (guitarist of the Clash), The Infadels…

In 2005, still at the Trans', it's for Funky Jazz Party that he's invited to perform in Hall 4.

Meanwhile, he will have made a tour and an album with the band Jesus Volt, and met the famous
Tony COHEN (Nick Cave, Beggars banquet and Cruel Sea's producer) for a studio session.

In 2006, back to studio with Ripley, he crosses FREEPIX's road, improvises scratches and rap for their Demo,
and plays with them on stage for 2 dates : a pure moment of Rock' n' roll.
